| CherryO! Looking for a great new way to experience Traverse City? Whether you are a Traverse City area native or an occasional visitor, Cherryopoly will be fun for the whole family for years to come! Beautiful Traverse City, Michigan! It’s a great place to live or visit! Thousands of visitors come year round to vacation and soak up a bit of the “good life” in one of Northern Michigan’s most spectacular communities. In addition to being famously known as the Cherry Capital of the World, Traverse City hosts the National Cherry Festival for a week every July, bringing over 500,000 visitors to the region. Jam-packed with fantastic parades, music concerts, sporting events, fireworks, and so many other activities, it’ll bring out the kid in you, no matter how old you are. When Traverse City heats up - and the National Cherry Festival is in full swing - many tourists and locals alike find themselves scurrying to one of the nearest cherry orchards for a look and taste of our prized fruit, or to the many wineries that dot our peninsulas to sample some of the world’s finest vino! Some choose to play a few rounds of golf at the Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos golf courses, or try their luck at the gaming tables. Need some family bonding time? Lounge around the pool at the Park Place Hotel, or grab a bite at Sleder’s Family Tavern, (and make sure you give the moose a great big kiss after dinner!) Shopping? You bet! Stroll through the beautiful, historic downtown district and discover hip boutiques, gourmet coffee houses and, of course, Doug Murdick’s Fudge! Cherryopoly is a tribute to the Grand Traverse region and to the cherry industry. While it’s impossible to include all of its charm, Cherryopoly highlights some of the best that the region has to offer. The game of Cherryopoly is loaded with cherries, boats, ice cream cones, and loads of favorite landmarks. It’s a game about Traverse City and its spectacular surroundings. So, start at the National Cherry Festival and roll the dice! Who knows? You might have to visit Munson Hospital, or you might be crowned the National Cherry Queen, or become a cadet at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy! Here’s a quick idea of how the game is played: Roll the dice. Buy a property. Build a cottage. Trade the cottage for a resort or two. It sounds easy enough – but add some playtime at the Great Wolf Lodge, or renovation costs to your cottage, or encounter an emergency at Munson Hospital or the cost of tickets to the Beach Bums baseball game and it becomes a little more difficult, but a lot more fun! Traditional play or one hour version. For 2 to 6 players ages 8 and up. ![]() ![]()
